Modern use of Yacht Charter

In yacht charter, there are actually two separate classes of yachts, sailing yachts and power yachts. Historically, yachts were seen as different from working ships because of the fact that they were commanded by the wealthy. Eventually, yachts became luxury items all their own. Now, yacht charter and the term yacht basically refers to sailing vessels that are used for racing or cruising for pleasure. Motor yachts are significantly more expensive to charter, but have enough space on board for people to live for at least several days. They are much larger than sailing yachts, and can actually reach to over 450 feet long.
